Elsa Cushion Cover Pattern
Additional Information
One of my favorite designers was Elsa Schiaparelli, an Italian whose *atelier* in Paris was Coco Chanel’s greatest competition. Her graphic knitwear designs launched her career. Schiaparelli’s designs were heavily influenced by the Surrealist movement and she collaborated with such luminaries as Dali, Oppenheim, Giacometti, Fini and Cocteau. This cushion is inspired by an embroidered 1937 evening coat designed in collaboration with Jean Cocteau that featured his face/vase optical illusion. At an impressive 20” square, embroidered and embellished with fabric flowers, the cushion is definitely a show-stopping conversation piece and a great gift for a fan of vintage design or modern art.
